As a parent - what would you do?

I could totally see something like this transpire woman is so distrot with the hubby she leaves with the son tells the boy he doesn't want to see him anymore. Woman moves on. Father so saddened by the tragic death of his daughter and his actions being somewhat the reason it happened cannot handle living anymore losing a child has pushed many a parent to drink I would imagine. Very plausible scenario.
